Terms of use

The short version: Beurt is free, be decent to your housemates, and we can’t promise it will never break.

Using Beurt

Beurt is free for students and shared houses. You need an account, and you must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and only share a home’s invite code with people who actually live there.

What you put in

The chores, names, photos and numbers you enter stay yours. You give us permission to store and show them to your housemates so the app can do its job. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to use, and don’t upload anything abusive — photos and names are visible to everyone in your home.

Fair use

Don’t try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, and don’t use it to harass anyone. We may suspend an account that does.

No guarantees

Beurt is provided as-is. We try hard to keep the schedule fair and the data safe, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available, correct, or free of bugs — and we are not responsible for arguments, missed chores, or a dirty kitchen. Keep your own record of anything that really matters to you.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from the account page. We can close an account that breaks these terms. If we ever shut Beurt down, we will give notice in the app so you can export or copy anything you need.

Law

These terms are governed by Dutch law.
